Haddad Advisory’s Chairman, Dr. Carlos Haddad, proudly announced today the launch of a privately funded 100 million USD investment fund focused on the MENASA (Middle East Norh Africa South Asia) ICT sector and aptly named “Genesis” as a hint to further funds being formed down the road. Haddad Advisory, the latest brainchild of Lebanese-Brazilian tycoon Dr. Carlos Haddad, has established itself as a serious global player in the high caliber Introductory, Lead Generation, Capital Introduction and Business Development services sector since its creation in 2012. Leveraging Dr. Haddad's unique and extensive global contact network built over the last 50 years in global business, the firm has been able to sign some leading global corporations as loyal clients. “The fund comes as a natural next step in my interest in the MENASA region. I was born in Lebanon and lived there until the age of 12 so it is also a way to reconnect with my roots and give back to a region which, despite the geographical distance, has remained dear to my heart.” Being privately funded, the fund is not seeking Limited Partners (LPs) as do most PEVC funds. Rather, the fund encourages MENASA ICT startups and more established firms to reach out if in need of growth capital to jumpstart or cement existing and increasing business. “The addition of Southeast Asia to the fund’s investment mandate is mainly due to the fact that we see that region increasingly becoming a partner of choice for MENA based companies and vice versa. By investing in Southeast Asia, we not only increase our pipeline, we also hope to create synergies between the two neighboring cluster regions.
